A walk in El Retiro starts before you reach the gates. Leave your car at Clubö Reyes Magos and plan your arrival from the Menéndez Pelayo side. From the Mariano de Cavia gate, explore the southern part of the park and choose whether to continue towards the rose garden, the Cecilio Rodríguez gardens or the area around the Palacio de Cristal.
El Retiro is large: choose the area you want to visit and allow time to return to your car. Check official opening times and notices before leaving; weather conditions can close the park. If you need a step-free route, check the appropriate entrance before choosing a gate.
